Three ways to keep your income

- Freelance your skills. Writing, design, bookkeeping, tech support and virtual assistance all work from a laptop.
- Build your own business. Andre built his after moving to Colombia.
Remote careers Andre highlights
From his 2023 list: HR and recruiting, sales, project management, medical billing and coding, customer service, education and training, accounting and finance, IT and cybersecurity, administration, and marketing. He notes some job boards limit roles to North America, so read each listing.

The visa and the clock
- Visa: the digital nomad visa is a visitor (V) visa for remote work for companies outside Colombia. See Colombia visa types.
- Time zone: Colombia does not change its clocks. It matches US Eastern from November to March and is one hour behind it the rest of the year.
- Internet: plan a backup connection, such as a mobile hotspot, for calls you cannot miss.
